Background

A web site—whether personal or occupational—is a reprentation of its creator's personality, tastes, and perhaps even his character. As such, there are some common personal web site items that I have chosen to omit from this site, despite their popularity with others.

Technical Omissions

• Animated GIFs: these are such an obsolete and unaesthetic technology that I still wonder when others chose to use them.
• Flash, Java, and other plugin media: I want my web site to operate in any modern web browser, including those that are text-only.

Ethical Omissions

• Information on performing illegal or questionable computing practices. Obtaining such knowledge is useful for legitimate security practices; but I refuse to be a source for this type of information.
